We Are Here to Dispel The Myth & Your Fears.......Take A Look!!!

We have been getting a few of our clients that are hesitant to try the HCG program because of it being administered via needle. During our consultations, one of the things we do is show you the actual needle and have you give yourself a B12 shot (FREE) right there in the office. The typical response is usually, "oh wow, that’s it? I didn't even really feel it." I am here to tell you that my business partner and I are deathly afraid of needles!!! If we can do it, I know you can. What's so funny is during one of our first consults upon the initiation of our company, we were going through the steps with a customer and pampering her in preparation for what we thought was the worst part. We both had a blank stare, when she simply took the needle and with NO hesitation injected herself. It really is that simple! If you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to give us a call. Remember, your consultations and membership is ALWAYS free. It is all about building a community of awareness around proper health and well being. While the HCG may not be for you, we still want to provide you with the tools to help you reach your weight loss goals and journey towards a healthier you!

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure:

Is it OK to exercise If You have a cold??

Mild to moderate physical activity is usually OK if you have a cold but no fever. Exercise may even help you feel better by temporarily relieving nasal congestion.

As a rule of thumb for exercise and illness:
  • Proceed with your workout if your signs and symptoms are "above the neck" — such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing or sore throat. Be prepared to reduce the intensity of your workout if needed, however.
  • Postpone your workout if your signs and symptoms are "below the neck" — such as chest congestion, hacking cough or upset stomach. Likewise, don't exercise if you have a fever, fatigue or widespread muscle aches.
If you choose to exercise when you're sick, listen to your body. If your signs and symptoms get worse with physical activity, stop and rest. Resume your workout routine gradually as you begin to feel better.

Most importantly, adjust your food intake  to match your activity level. Especially if your cold keeps you confined to your bed.

Winning!!!!

5 Dieting Dissapointments....

Trying to lose weight but can't?  Before you blame it on this or that, it may be time to step back and take a good look at at your actions. Are you taking any of these missteps?

Following the Wrong Diet.  There is no "one size fits all" diet, so you may not be doing yourself any favors by following a diet that is too low in calories, or the latest fad diet, unless it is somewhat in line with the way you normally eat or want to eat for the rest of your life. If you choose a diet that is too restrictive, or completely eliminates foods you really enjoy, there's little chance you'll stick to it. The diet that will work for you is one that you can live with, as well as one that helps you lose pounds and maintain a healthy weight once you get to it. It's really about the lifestyle change.

Dieting without Exercising. If you lose weight without exercising, you may lose pounds, but some of your loss may be lean muscle tissue, which is more metabolically active than fat, which means it's better at burning calories. So you don't want to lose it! Exercise not only helps you burn excess calories, it helps you build up lean muscle. Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so when you do develop more muscle, you may not lose as much weight or as quickly as you hoped. But the muscle weight you are carrying is far healthier and looks better than if you don't maintain that muscle and that always makes up for an extra couple of pounds. Exercise is also essential for preventing further weight gain, and keeping weight off once you lose It.

Too Much Exercise. There are two reasons why over-exercising may interfere with reaching your weight loss goals. Exercise makes you hungry and the more exercise you do, the hungrier you'll get and the more you are likely to eat at your next meal or snack. Overexercising also carries a "burnout" factor. You may start out motivated  but you're more likely to give up before you reach your goals. Don't worry, if you are having weight issues, I doubt this is a factor.

Losing Weight Too Slowly. Although slow to moderate weight loss is generally recommended for long-term success, people who are clinically obese may benefit more from greater initial weight loss. A University of Florida study of 262 middle-aged obese women countered this advice when researchers found that the women who experienced greater weight loss in the first month of dieting and exercising maintained their weight loss longer and were less likely to regain the lost weight than those women who lost weight more gradually. Women on the fast track were also five times more likely to reach their goal weight . This will definetly be accomplished on the HCG program.

Dieting Alone. Most people need a support system when trying to make lifestyle changes. Enlist the help of a friend or family member, someone you can "report" to and, ideally, someone who also wants to lose weight and is willing to follow a similar diet and exercise program with you. This is one of the great benefits of the Two Island Girls community. There will never be a shortage of support.

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses.....

Every year you make a resolution only to find you've made more "coulda, shoulda, woulda" statements than you have made trips to the gym. So rather than making the same empty promises to yourself this New Year's, let Two Island Girls LLC. help you with trying a new approach.

Here are some of  the top seven fitness excuses we make and the keys to overcome them.

1. "I can't commit." Come on ladies, men are suppose to be the ones notorious for having commitment problems. Not us, so why is committing to fitness so diffuclt? I understand gym memeberships can be quite pricey.  Promising a gym a large amount of money is never an easy endeavor.

Two Island Girls Approach: Don't let lengthy (and pricey) gym memberships deter you from becoming active. We seek out & have partnerships with local fitness groups or sports teams to join that are typically inexpensive. In addtion, within the community we build you will have tons of support from peopole aspiring towards a common goal. Those 4 free weeks with a personal trainer that we offer will also help with a nice kick start. As well as provide you with the motivation to "keep going."

2. "I don't have the extra money to spend." Again, gym memberships are expensive, and not everyone has the extra funds to pay for a yearly membership.

Two Island Girls Approach: It's true. Money is rarely in excess for anyone these days. But look at it this way: By actively losing weight now, you'll prevent weight-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, some cancers, and heart disease. An investment in fitness now will save you money in doctor's bills later. In addition, 2IG has a tremendous amount of ways that we show our community to be healthy and fit on a dime.

3. "I'm too tired." Workdays are getting longer and longer. Add kids to care for to the equation, and you have a recipe for weariness.

Two Island Girls Approach: According to research exercise, exercise can  does increase energy levels even among people suffering from chronic medical conditions associated with fatigue, like cancer and heart disease. So rather than viewing exercise as yet another drain on your energy, look at it as a new means to kick your lethargy to the curb.

4. "I'm too stressed." Bills, kids, work, your partner. Depending on your current situation, some of-if not all-these elements in your life can lead to a seemingly unmanageable amount of stress.

Two Island Girls Approach: Although you may look at it as such, exercise should not be stressful. In fact, you should look at your chosen form of activity (whether it's a gym, a sports team, or a club) as your time away from the stressors. Embrace your time away from the realities of life and exercise your ability to remedy stress. Our community will also provide a great vice and outlet. You with have a chance to meet and network with like minded individuals. Encouraging and motivating one another. One of the things we offer as well are clinics and other resources to help you get to the root cause of some of your stress.

5. "I don't know how." If you've never exercised before, a gym can be an overwhelming place. Loud music, high-tech machines, and extremely fit cliental can deter even the most inspired newcomer.

Two Island Girls Approach:  Regardless of how green you may be, there are gyms and outlets provided for those who are new to the fitness world. 2IG also gives our community members 4 free weeks with a personal trainer that will help familiarize you with some of the machines and exercises.

6. "My partner is happy with me the way I am." So you've put on a few extra pounds since the start of your relationship, and your partner is happy with you "just the way you are." (Really?)

Two Island Girls Approach: And your partner should love you even if you're carrying around a newly acquired spare tire. Even so, your partner would be elated if you make a commitment to fitness not for vanity's sake, but for your own health and wellness. Let's get real here for a moment. Stop trying to justify it!! No one, I repeat No one is really happy with "a few extra pounds." Don't make it ok!! This is how we lose control and before you know it, those "few extra" turn into 50lbs+ extra.

7. "I'm recovering from a serious injury." Work-related injuries are on the rise and more than a few of us have been sidelined because of them. On top of that, nothing can bring a life of fitness to a screeching halt like an extended recovery period.

Two Island Girls Approach: Sure, maybe you can't just jump right back into the thick of exercise. You can, however, set a goal for yourself. This will lessen the stress of exercise while working toward a manageable goal. Also keep in mind, less activity less consumption. If you are not as active, there is NO need to eat the same way you did when you were.
